Invisible Widgets
-
I currently have three visible widgets working fine on my site. One is a link to Facebook and the other two are text.
I am trying to add a gallery carousel widget to my home page and another text only widget (this time on my services page). Neither are showing up. I have tried fixing them multiple times and can’t figure out why they won’t show up.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To make sure we are on the same page, are you talking about this WordPress.com site? https://thefinerysalonandspa.wordpress.com/
When I visit your site, I see what you mentioned on the About page. On the Services page, I see the text-widget, which I assume is working as expected?
As for the gallery carousel on homepage, can I confirm which widget you are trying to use? It’s suggested that you use this widget by the name Gallery Widget to do so. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gallery-widget/
Let me know when you try this. I will be happy to help should you have questions.

Yes, I got the one for Services to work correctly somehow, but the gallery is still causing a problem. That’s the widget I’m using and I’m doing as the video instructs.

Here’s one more tip. It’s encouraged that you have a look at widget visibility conditions as explained here. https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/conditional-widget-visibility/
You will have to enable visibility of the gallery widget for your homepage (and other pages you want to) using the conditions available.
I hope this helps clarify things. Feel free to get back if you have questions related to WordPress.com account and WordPress.com sites and I will be keen on helping you through it!

thefinerysalonandspa – I see that the gallery widget you’ve set to display as a slideshow isn’t currently working. I’m going to dig into this some more and keep you posted here.

Ah, my mistake – I looked at the issue too quickly.
Here’s the actual issue:
The Sidebar widget area isn’t displayed on the front page in Dara, since the theme automatically applies a special no-sidebar homepage template when a static page has been set as the front page – there isn’t a way to override this.
You could instead insert a slideshow gallery within the body of your page, instead of as a widget:
