Invitation Failed to Send

    I have always added people by invite by EMail as Followers. Recently I tried to add a new user and received the message “Invitation Failed to Send”. It is not the EMail address itself as I tested the procedure with another valid EMail and it too failed, while the same valid EMail worked when used from another WordPress.com site.

    To compound my confusion, I went back and successfully invited the user as a contributor, meaning this particular site will not invite followers as it always used to. Note that this is a public site.
