Invitations did not work

  I sent out invitations to 18 individuals. Two of these were with ‘author’ role, the rest as ‘contributors’. The ‘contributor’ invitations were sent as a group of 10 emails separated with commas, and a group of 5. The two sent as ‘authors’ accepted and show as users in the console. One of the ‘contributor’ invitations was accepted but does not show up as a user. One other individual sent a request to join, and was able to like a post, but again this person does not show up as a user in the console. I needed to know who has registered as it’s a private secure site. Is the WordPress functionality not working?

  I also invited myself on a different email as a “contributor”, I show up as a user.

  Is there a known problem with group invitations of more than two emails ids not being registered as site users? This is spectacularly unhelpful if so; and if so, then I need to re-invite using single invitations.

  I sent new invitations as individual sends. These do show as users. So now I have an incomplete set of users, meaning for example I can’t change someone from contributor to author.

  So I’m not impressed with WordPress so far. This is pretty basic functionality that doesn’t work and doesn’t appear to be resolvable.

  Hi echobeachgroup,

  There are currently 10 confirmed users on echobeachgroup.wordpress.com, which shows the invite process is working. The remaining users will need to click on the “Accept Invitation” button in the email in order to be added to the site.

  Can you send me the email addresses of these users? If you type the email addresses here, that information will be redacted from public view but I will be able to see it. I’ll then look into why they are not listed as users.
