Recently i’ve been invited as an administrator of a certain wordpress site. Can someone advice me on how to access this site’s dashboard?

i tried logging in via etcetera.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ with my account but i don’t see any of functions/buttons for css and themes. Please help me. I’m really new at this.

We can’t really answer accurately without you providing the URL for the blog in question starting with http://
    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
    http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you are referring to a free hosted wordpress>COM blog and not a wordpress.ORG install then it’s possible that you are on the global dashboard rather than the blog’s dashboard. Go to the gray navigation bar at the top left find “My Account” then in the dropdown menu click “My Blogs” and select the blog in question.

Have you noticed the left column above on worldpress.com ? Just click My Dashborad for entering in .Then you’ll find it rightly.

    Thanks for the reply.

@timethief: It is a wordpress.com blog and i tried accessing it via “My Blogs” but it doesn’t seem like i’m a member of it. I received the invite via email….does that make a difference as i’m using another email for my wordpress.com account?

@xingyi1117: i tried clicking on My Dashboard too before i posted for help and all i got was some unrelated post. I’m new here and this is my first account. There shouldn’t be any posts, comments and “stuff” on my dashboard. Which is why…i’m quite confused.

does that make a difference as i’m using another email for my wordpress.com account

The unique identifier is the email address that you registered your account under. The invitation email for adding you as a user (Admin) to another blog was sent to a specific email address and that’s the one that counts. See here for clarity > http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

I think what happened was that the person who invited you needs to go back to their own dashboard and then just invite you again as a user. I think what they may have done is invited you and through that process you clicked on creating your own username or blog. The same thing happened to me but was resolved when the original owner of the blog invites you again as a USER. The difference is that you now actually have an account so there won’t be a problem with you have to create an account, etc.

BTW, my friend told me that even though she was invited as a contributor who is not supposed to be able to see blog stats according to the outlines for CONTRIBUTORS, ETC. but they can see them? Is this a bug?

@gothiccoffin, I would suggest contacting the owner of the blog and giving them you username and email address for your current account and have them add you under that account. Otherwise you would have to start a new account with that other email to be able to be an admin on that blog.
