Invited authors can't access WordPress

I recently invited several people to contribute to my blog. Most of them were able to access and contribute, but a couple of them are not. When they click the link in the invitation email, it just spins on a blank page, taking them nowhere.

They have tried clearing cache and cookies already. They have also tried using a different computer–in fact, one where I was able to access my own account just minutes earlier–all to no avail. I have tried deleting the original invitations and sending brand new ones–twice. They have tried clicking register from the blog home page in addition to clicking the link in the invitation email.

Nothing seems to work. They simply can’t get anywhere that will let them register. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Will you please provide the of usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers you refer to? Or provide email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts? The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Hi there,

As TimeThief said, as soon as you give me some additional information on the folks who are having problems with getting added, I’ll be able to take a closer look.

You mentioned they were having problems getting registered. Does that mean that they couldn’t even create a WordPress.com account right here:

    https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

This form creates just a user-only account, no blog. If you haven’t already tried this, could you try directing people to create an account here and then invite folks using their username? That may work better for you.
