  Sent an invite, but the person cant set up an account. I keeps saying username already taken.

  Hi there,

  What is the username they’re trying to use for the new account?

  If the username has already been used, they won’t be able to also use it, and they’ll have to pick a different username.

  They can always set their public display name to what they want instead.

  So, the person already manages a WordPress account, my invitation is to a private blog. He can’t get access with any combination that he tries.

  If they already have an account, you will want to send the invite to the username or email address they use on that existent account.
