Invites

I am reviving my blog after a break. Unfortunately some of my users have changed email address. When I send an invite to the new address I get the message ‘ User already has a role on your site’
Any suggestions?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I think they (the users) must’ve updated their email addresses in their WordPress accounts. And therefore they must be able to access your site with their respective role if they sign in to their WordPress.com account.
Do you see them on this page?
https://wordpress.com/people/teamAnother way would be to remove someone from the team and then add them again with the new address.
Just suggesting possible ideas from the top of my head. Let us know if any of that works for you :)

Thank you for that – I have tried deleting and sending to invites to the new email, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m wondering if there is a way of permanently deleting them all and starting again from scratch.

Hmm..
If you mean you want to permanently delete the invites and start again, you can find all the past invitations on this page –
https://YOURSITE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=wpcom-invite-users
That should allow you to delete and resend invitations.

The only way I can get round this is to resend an invite to the new email address and change their role.
