Inviting authors

  I have invited a wordpress user (wordpress userid: denwills1) to be an author on my blog. They have accepted my invitation but I have not seen them appear in my list of users. Under users – invite new – I still see the invitation with a date accepted status “waiting”. They cannot access my blog to make posts. Why?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Sometimes the “Accept Invitation” button in the invitation email is a bit finicky and doesn’t work the first time. Can you please ask that user to log in to their WordPress.com account, and then click the “Accept Invitation” button again?

  If that doesn’t work, they can also copy the link from the bottom of that email and paste it into their browser to accept the invitation.

  Please let me know if you continue to run into trouble with that!

  That has not worked. We have tried it in various combinations.

  I have unfollowed the person’s blog and they mine.
  Then reissued the invitation.
  They accept and that hyperlink takes them through to a login screen even though they are logged in to wordpress

  Sometimes clicking on that link won’t work correctly — if they copy and paste the link into their browser directly (after logging in) do they continue to have trouble with it?

  Thanks for letting me know. I’m glad that approach worked!

  Our team is hoping to improve how the invitation process works, especially to address the issues you mentioned with accepting the invitation. We don’t have a set timeline for that, but it’s definitely on our radar. :)
