Inviting editors is not working. Help!
-
I have set up a blog for my friend to post his stories about his life. We want to be able to invite his friends and family to interview him, record his stories and post them to his blog. I am the administrator of the blog. I want to invite him to be an editor. When he clicks on the link in the email I sent him he gets this message: “Whoops, you can’t use an activation key you’ve created for someone else.”
I then tried inviting myself to be an editor, using my alternate email address. When I clicked the link in the email it worked, it took me to wordpress and had me set up my own blog, so I did. But on my blog list, it is showing only my blog, not his. I reinvited myself at the alternate email address, but now when I click the link it gives me the same message it was giving him “Whoops, you can’t use an activation key you’ve created for someone else.” Should I give up on this idea?
It sounds like you have it set up for people to be editors, authors and contributors to other people’s blogs, but I cannot get it to work.
Thank you

When your friend clicks on the invitation link, is he accessing it from his home computer or are you sharing computers? Usually that error message comes up when logged into an account that’s different from the username you’re inviting as an editor to the blog:
