Inviting followers to WordPress.com blog
-
I have just transferred a blog to WordPress.com and cannot figure out how to invite the 80 previous subscribers via email to now follow the new WordPress.com blog.
This support post says there is a command/function to “Invite New” where the blog administrator can enter just the email address:

But, that doesn’t work. I do not have that “Invite New” command available where I can add a subscriber with just an email address. I have “Add New”, where Instead, “Add New” requires that I enter individual User Names, passwords, names and emails. I only have email addresses, not all of this additional information .
How can I invite 80 email addresses to re-follow the blog?

You can invite people using their email addresses and it doesn’t rquire any other information. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-follow-your-blog

Thanks for the quick response. The problem is that I don’t have the “Invite New” menu selection available which is documented in that support thread. It’s extremely frustrating, as I don’t know how to fix that problem.
The support post shows under Users, there are 4 submenus:
–All Users
–Invite New
–My Profile
–Personal SettingsI don’t have “Invite New.” What I have under Users are just 3 sub-menus:
–All Users
–Add new
–My ProfileI don’t have the “Invite New” menu choice available. “Add New” requires User Names, passwords, names, and emails.
How do I get the “Invite New” menu command? Could it be a but, or some limitation on my template?

Oh sorry!
The blog you’re talking about is not hosted here on WordPress.com but WordPress.org and the support document is for WordPress.com hosted blogs.

Go to WordPress.org support forum and post your query there.
