Inviting Friends to a private blog

  Hello….help please :)

  I’m having a private blog and would like to add friends to view my blog; however they are not wordpress.com users.

  Is it necessary that they also start a blog at wordpress.com? I’m confused as to how to allow non wordpres.com users view my private blog here.

  Your friends can sign up as wordpress.com users. They do not have to obtain a blog though. That is an option when they sign up. Just have them choose the “Just an account” option when they do so.

  A private blog is only visable to those you add into your lists at Dashboard -> Options -> Privacy. (I think that’s it) To be added in, they must have an account first though.

  Hi,
  This answers my question. I would request a feature that allows me to add readers by their email addresses so they don’t have to sign up for WordPress…

  Won’t happen I’m afraid. Too easy to be abused by spammers. What would stop them from adding in those who don’t want to be added in?
