Inviting friends to my blog

I have invited many friends to follow my blog. Most of them did not receive the invitation the first time so I had to resend. Many of them have problems signing in and give up as the names they give are ‘taken’. I have sent them copies of the URL, now a lot of them are listed in my user list as ‘Waiting’. I have not received e-mails to ‘Allow’, I do not know how to accept these.
One comment I got from an experienced computer user. “this has got to be the most complicated blogging site on the web!
And getting help is a two hour job!!
I think I will move my blog elsewhere unless I can get some CLEAR directions from somewhere!!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your blog isn’t private, so your friends do not need to be Invited as users to see it. As long as you have a Subscribe widget in the sidebar they can choose to subscribe by email or just read it on the web.

Thanks for you explanation. I will check if I have the subscribe widget. Many of my friends do not want to subscribe to word press and got frustrated with the invite they received. I sent invites to Users and set the category follower. A lot have not received an invite. Do I send them a URL? Name of my blog with wordpress.com after it?

Just send them an email with “Hey, here’s my new blog http://ktb99.wordpress.com/ ” in it.
