Inviting Users to a Private Blog

    I am setting up a private blog and I understand that I need to send invites to the individuals I want to join. And those individuals either need to have an account at WordPress or create a new one before they can view the blog. I got that. But, when I sent a test request out, the user tried to log in, they received message that it was a private blog and they needed to request permission. They clicked on this link and then got a message that said their request had been sent to the administrator.
    2 Questions:

    1) When I go into my admin dashboard, I could not find where the request is and/or how to approve it. WHere would this be located?

    2) If its a private blog and the administrator sends a invite, why is their a intermediate step whereby the person trying to join the blog gets a message that its private and they have to request permission. It would seem to me that if the admin sends out a invite that should be sufficient. Am I doing something wrong here.

    Thanks time thief for your reply….I finally got an e-mail asking me to accept this site member. I did so and now that site member can log in. So far so good.

    However, when the site member logs in, (i.e. myself under a different e-mail address and WordPress account) I cannot find anyway to make a post. I can see the site, I can see the posts that are there but can’t create a new one.

    My first thought was that when I invited the user, perhaps I did not set up the right permissions (although I thought I set it as author). So I went the the “Users” area under Dashboard but the new site member I just added (i.e. myself under another acct) was not there. So how can that be. The site member can clearly access my blog, but does not show up under users in the dashboard.
