Inviting viewers and contributors to a private blog

  I have invited a viewer to my private blog. He has run into several problems. When he first tried to set up an account he was asked if he wanted a blog – which he did not want. Second I have resent the invite several times and every time he has tried to register/ login – he gets a message that either the email address has been used or his password is incorrect. I have told him to click on the forgot my password link but he is still unable to login – any suggestions on how to get him set up with access to my private blog.
