Inviting viewers – simpler process??
-
I am setting up a private blog for my company to use. When I invite employees to view the blog, they have to first create a wordpress account. However, once they create the account wordpress forgets they were invite. I then have to send out invites again to be viewers of the blog. After they accept they still have to click ‘follow’ they then lastly they have to change their settings to receive new blog posts by email. This is such a long process. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I feel like I should be able to send the email invitation and once they sign up they should be ready to go. Any help??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you inviting viewers to your site via your Settings > Reading page?
They will need either an existing WordPress.com account at the email address you use, or will need to create one, in order to be added as viewers. They have the option of reading your posts just in the WordPress.com Reader, or they can choose to follow via email by updating their settings. They will need to follow a couple of steps to set up their preferences for the blog but will not need to do that again subsequently.

I agree with kcetrano, the process is too long and complicated. Especially for those who are not computer savvy, which turns out to be many family members who I would like to have following my blog — it would be nice to see the process streamlined for these people.
