IOS Chrome Issue

Hello, I am using the barnsbury theme and everything is working great except for anyone using an mobile IOS device.

When switching from landscape to portrait the entire home page content is shoved to the left, appearing like there is a large margin on the right.

Before contacting support I removed all my CSS, and disabled all plugin’s that were not enabled by default. I then tried another theme and it did the exact same thing. Support recommended those steps and didn’t see what was causing this issue.

It looks like there is a bug in Chrome 86 that was causing something similar. Chrome is now in version 87 and has claimed to have resolved this issue yet I still see this occur on other sites as well.

The kicker is the documented bug added equal margins on both sides, instead of a single large margin on the right.

On my other pages after rotating from landscape to portrait creates those margins on either side of the page content found in the original bug report.

  • Hello there,

Many thanks for reaching out and providing that detail there. It sounds like you’ve done all the right trouble shooting with removing the CSS and ruling out plugins.

Looking at the screenshot, it looks as if the word “Professionals” is pushing that margin from the right – which would suggest that the font is not changing size.

To test this theory – can you remove the word Professionals, (with a view to re-add it back in) and see if the margin presents itself. Also, is there anything else on the page as you scroll down that sits outside of that margin?

Are you able to share the documentation regarding the bug so we’ve got a set of eyes on that please?

    Many thanks in advance.
