Hello there,
We don’t rely on IP addresses for that purpose here at WordPress.COM. There is no permanent static IP address for any WordPress.com blog. All IPs are dynamic ie. ever changing. Therefore WordPress.com does not purport to provide static IP addresses. Note what Staff (jeremeylduvall) provides in this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/looking-for-name-serverip-address?replies=8#post-2091660To map to an existing domain see http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
To map a subdomian see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/ -
This doesn’t really answer my question. I need to point my blog.lilacblossomphotography.com SUBdomain to here. I’m not trying to start here and point other pages to this. GoDaddy cannot do it any other way unless they have an IP address, so I’m told. So, how can it be done? I need to speak to someone to walk me through. Is there a number I can call for help?

On WordPress.com, you can use a subdomain of a domain that you already own. Please read this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/ while you are waiting.

Thank you for your help. To clarify, I’m trying to create a subdomain with GoDaddy and that will be: blog.lilacblossomphotography.com. I want it to point to my blog I have here on wordpress: lilacblossomphotography.wordpress.com. Do to that, I simply need the IP address for the A name to point here. I don’t need to create the subdomain here in WordPress since I’ll have it there with Go Daddy. If someone can provide me with that IP address, it would be wonderful. Thanks so much.

Howdy!
The reason we don’t recommend mapping with IP addresses is because we serve sites from multiple, rotating data centers. When the switches happen it affects the ability of the subdomain to reach your site with an IP address, because the IP address is changing.
The method we recommend is to create a CNAME record in your DNS at GoDaddy. Make a CNAME record that blog.lilacblossomphotography.com is an alias of lilacblossomphotography.wordpress.com
GoDaddy has instructions on how to add that CNAME records to your domain’s DNS here: https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/680/managing-dns-for-your-domain-names#cnames
Then, back at WordPress.com, purchase a Domain Mapping upgrade and make sure to enter blog.lilacblossomphotography.com for the domain mapping, not lilacblossomphotography.com.
Full steps for this process can be found here:
