IP Address

  I am searching for the IP address which I need to give the domain server, but the support page keeps sending me in loops and not actually giving me any support at all. Can someone tell me what the IP address is I have to give them?

  WordPress discourages using IP addresses over name servers as they can change over time and your website may stop working in future and you will have to contact support again. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/ip-addresses/#ip-address-for-domain-mapping (I’m sure you’ve seen it).

  If the reason you need the IP address is for your email you should be able to map your domain and simply edit some of the DNS records. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#what-about-email

  Hi there,

  WordPress.com does not use static IP addresses, which means they change over time and so you can’t rely on them to point your domain to your WordPress.com site. You’ll have to point your domain to the WordPress.com name servers instead:

  • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) can help you with the exact steps to make that change on your domain.
