contact godaddy and they were asking for IP address so I can direct my domain names to my blog

  • Hello-
GoDaddy will let you use name servers and that is the recommended way (instead of IP address, because IP address is subject to change) to point your domain to WordPress.com. #2 at this link explains what you are asking.

WordPress.COM blogs do not have permanent IP addresses. IP addresses here can and do can change over time and your domain may stop working if you rely on them. For more information about domain mapping and IP addresses please read https://en.support.wordpress.com/ip-addresses/

    re: mapping an existing domain
WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM blog, and as you own a domain URL already, you can see here for mapping an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made, it and the domain mapping purchase here, each and every year.

Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually and a domain name purchase and domain mapping are included in the Premium upgrade bundle.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL. If you do not register a .wordpress.com blog URL first then the software supplies the dot whatever URL so you can proceed with your domain mapping purchase.

    See https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/

Your billing history will be at Dashboard > Store > Billing History
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/billing-history/

Your only options for payment are found here http://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/

It can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

I will be contacting the FTC and BBB in San Francisco CA – not being to able to communicate via phone and to talk to some is preposterous – if some that is computer challenged and does not understand bill gates terminology is crazy – as I said I will be contacting the FTC & BBB – to make them aware as I will also telling people not to use this site ever again

I am not clear on why you are overreacting in this way. People do this every day here ie. they purchase domain mapping upgrade from wordpress.COM for domain URLs they purchased from Godaddy and then they map from a .wordpress.com URL to an existing domain.

very frustrating when you cant talk to someone unless you have a business type of account

There is no phone support. The support docs at http://support.wordpress.com are easy to find and there are links to them all over this site, for example, look at both the top and the bottom of this page.

There is also a Help link on your Admin pages on the top right-hand corner
