  Can you tell me the current IP address for my website oeci.org.au.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello

  To discover the IP Address associated to your domain name you can use ‘ping’ command on your computer.
  If you don’t know how to do that. Go to a website like https://ping.eu/ping/, put your domain name in the formular and you will get your IP Address.

  Currently the IP Address is 192.0.80.250.

  But be aware this IP can change as mentioned in the WordPress.com documentation:

  IP Addresses

  When possible we encourage people to add our nameservers rather than IP addresses because our IPs can change over time. If your registrar requires A records, you can contact support and we’ll provide you with a list of our current IP addresses.

  I had used a ping command to determine the IP address, however no response is received (destination net unreachable) and using the URL (www.oeci.org.au) in a browser returns an error (timeout). Any suggestions on why this is the case?

  Hi there,

  The domain, oeci.org.au, is not currently hosted on WordPress.com, it’s DNS is being managed by melbourneit.net. The A record in the domain’s DNS is pointing to 192.0.80.250, but that’s set on melbourneit’s end, not ours.

  I do see there is a domain mapping upgrade for that domain that belongs to another WordPress.com account, michaelquinn. That upgrade has been active here since 2014, but it looks like that domain hasn’t been pointed to our servers for quite some time.

  Can you please give some more details on exactly what you are trying to do? Then we might be able to advise you more accurately. Are you trying to point the domain back to WordPress.com so that it will show the WordPress.com site connected to that domain again?

  Yes I am trying to re-enable access to the web site hosted at WordPress but the IP address previously set in the DNS at MelbourneIT is not responding. I suspect it may mave changed or the mapping expired. Can you provide the current IP addresses for WordPress please so that it can be entered into the DNS records at MelbourneIT as I don’t really want to change the name servers. Also can you provide any other information I might need to re-map the domain. Does the current plan still provide for domain mapping.

  You will need to add two A-records with these IPs:

  192.0.78.24

  192.0.78.25

  Also can you provide any other information I might need to re-map the domain.

  There is an active domain mapping upgrade for that domain, connecting to the site, oeciwp.wordpress.com, and owned by the user michaelquinn. Once the domain is properly pointed to WordPress.com again, that mapping should start working immediately.
