    I have a domain name through GoDaddy and I would like to park my WordPress blog there and use my domain name

    I just want to make sure I’ve understood correctly — it sounds like you wish to use GoDaddy as your host and use the custom domain there?

    Using a third party host like GoDaddy means you will be installing WordPress.org software on their servers, rather than creating and hosting a site here on WordPress.com. We have some information about the differences between the two options here:
