Hi, we are a small charity and currently have a WordPress website with 1&1. We were struggling to manage this website as it was so complicated so I made a simpler one here on WordPress – https://silverdotorg.wordpress.com/ . We contacted 1&1 about swapping to this new website and they said they need the IP address, I have absolutely no idea where to find this so could you please advise. Thanks, Emma

IP addresses can change. Not sure how that is possible.
Surely it’s the server details they need?

  • Hi there.

The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time as @mercedesblak mentioned. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.25

    192.0.78.24

    Thanks!
