    Hey mate,

You can log into your account at your domain registrar and replace any existing name servers with these three domain name server (DNS) addresses:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

Remember to remove your old name servers when you add the WordPress.com name servers.

If your registrar requires A records, you can contact support and we’ll provide you with a list of our current IP addresses.

    Thank you
    Anas

  • Hi @selsdonette

To add a custom address to your WordPress.com site you will first need to follow the steps here to connect it to your WordPress.com account.

    https://wordpress.com/domains/add/use-my-domain/gonetolunchmusic.wordpress.com

Once you have done that, it is possible to connect with IP addresses. We recommend “Nameserver” connections wherever possible as @anasmouaziz mentions, but you can set up a connection using two A Records, one set to each of these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.24
    192.0.78.25

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I have now tried to move my domain to WordPress, but it has crashed. It asked for code, which wasn’t available on my godaddy site, and now the url just gives a server not found msg.

  • Hi there,

Before the domain will work, you’ll need to upgrade your WordPress.com site to one of our paid plans and add our domain connection upgrade. Just changing the IP addresses to point to us won’t work.

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

Copying from the new thread you created a short while ago:

My domain transfer from godaddy seems to be lost

You also have not requested any domain transfers on our end. While it’s possible to transfer a domain registration from another provider to us, that also requires a paid plan.

    https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

Can you please confirm the domain and tell us what exactly you’re trying to do?

Note that you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. The information we provided you with above is only relevant if your end goal here is to use your domain you own through GoDaddy, with your WordPress.com site at http://gonetolunchmusic.wordpress.com/

If instead your goal is to have a WordPress website on your domain, hosted on GoDaddy’s servers, then it has nothing at all to do with us. We’re a hosting provider, like GoDaddy, and not the same thing as the open source WordPress software that you’d install on GoDaddy’s servers.
