IP address for domain mapping
-
I intend to arrange a paid upgrade to point my domain name to my wordpress blog.
I have read the instructions for mapping an existing domain registered with another host to my blog however my domain name host (nic.ar) are also asking for an ‘ip address’ in addition to updating the name server to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM etc.
Is there a standard ip address for wordpress.com or has anyone else had this situation with their domain host when mapping their domain name to their blog.
Thank you
The blog I need help with is http://soloida1314.wordpress.com.

Hi, I found this http://es.forums.wordpress.com/topic/dns-para-nicar?replies=3 , then it will ask you for the “Nombre”, “ISP” y “Contacto técnico” there you have to type “WordPress” and search for the .com

There is no permanent static IP address for any WordPress.com blog. All IPs are dynamic ie. ever changing. Therefore WordPress.com does not provide static IP addresses, so you won’t be able to map your domain by IP if that’s what you are trying to do.
If you would like to use your domain you will first need to purchase a domain mapping upgrade http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/ set up domain mapping. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

@ reydetrebol and startupjobsargentina,
The information from timethief is correct. We typically recommend people add our the nameservers rather than IP addresses because IP addresses can change over time.
If your registrar requires that you create A records, you may use the list below, but be aware that your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.
Please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:
76.74.254.120
72.233.69.6
72.233.2.58
66.155.9.238
76.74.254.123
66.155.11.238
