I don’t detect any domain mapping upgrade on http://pantumesh.wordpress.com/ and the question you ask has no relevance unless you are referring to a domain URL.

There is no permanent static IP address for any WordPress.com blog. All IPs are dynamic ie. ever changing. Therefore WordPress.com does not provide static IP addresses. However, I’ll tag this thread for a Staff response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Currently I believe they are:
    76.74.254.123
    192.0.80.250
    192.0.81.250
    66.155.9.238
    66.155.11.238
    76.74.254.120

Please note that if you are trying to point a domain to WordPress.com it is much better to use name servers as our IP addresses do change over time, and that may cause your site to not function properly in the future.

If you are referring to a domain that you purchased through WordPress.COM then post the URL here in the form of an active link starting with http://

For more information on our name servers and how to update them to point to WordPress.com, see http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

No i did not purchase it from WP. I bought a new domain from Godaddy with ‘managed wordpress’.. now when i m initiating the basic setup it asks for Host location or IP address. When i called costumer care service of the website the girl said that you need to fill in the IP address of your blog. So i m wondering if i have to try one of these IP addresses you referred or i need to find out specific IP ( Although you already said there is no specific IP’s for specific Blogs). So it will be great if you can tell me how to go about it.

    Hi Umesh,

I believe there might be a little confusion between WordPress.org and WordPress.com. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Currently we are the support team for WordPress.com. If you need help with your self-hosted WordPress.org site, it would be best to head to their forum:

    http://wordpress.org

If you want to host with us, the IP addresses that @timethief provided you would be correct. However, as she mentioned she do prefer that you use our nameservers:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

    Hi,
Thanks gracejiyoung and timethief both for your feedback.
timethief as you said there is no static IP address for free blog. as i have known from the research there is no FTP user name and FTP password assigned to a free blog either.
So my problem is i have bought a domain name and managed wordpress service in godaddy.com. It needs ‘FTP user id’ and ‘FTP Password’ plus ‘IP address’ or ‘host name’.. Godaddy people are saying that i will get it from wordpress. Now i m stuck. what to do ? i am not able to do basic setup in my godady managed wordpress account without this information.. Plzz help out.. Thanks in advance for your support though :-)

    Hi there,

If you purchased managed WordPress hosting from GoDaddy, your site is hosted by GoDaddy with the WordPress software from WordPress.org. (That’s different from sites hosted here at WordPress.com.) In your case, you’ll need to get your FTP information, host name, and/or IP address from GoDaddy (since GoDaddy is the one hosting the site, not WordPress.com). This support page might help you with that:

    http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/8940/managed-wordpress-sftp-and-phpmyadmin-credentials

If you need additional WordPress help, you can post in the WordPress.org support forums here:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

    I hope this helps!
