IP Address for my site

    Hello! I need the IP address for my site so that I can map my site to another domain. Per your article (https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/#change-your-domains-name-servers) If I need IP addresses instead of a name server I should contact the support team. My domain is currently registered under namecheap. Thank you for your help!

    Hi there,

    What is the domain, and with which site do you want to use it? I don’t see any site with a paid plan and domain mapping upgrade in your account – if you change the IP address on your domain without a mapping upgrade being in place first, all this change will do it break your domain.

    Is there a specific reason why you can’t change your name servers? We recommend that over IP address as it’s a much more stable way of pointing the domain, and it ensures that all services on our end that rely on DNS will work properly.

    If you have existing DNS records on the domain that need to keep working, you can add those on our end, and in fact, the moment you add a domain mapping upgrade our system should import those automatically so they’ll just continue working once the name servers are pointed to us.
