IP address of the wordpress blog
-
Good afternoon,
I need to know if my blog http://www.ecomuseoargentario.wordpress.com has an IP address. I need to redirect the website http://www.ecoarge.net to the blog page so I need the IP to covert my hosting service to DNS (this is what aruba.it assistance told me).
Thank you
LaraThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no permanent static IP address for any WordPress.com blog. All IPs are dynamic ie. ever changing. Therefore WordPress.com does not purport to provide static IP addresses. See here please https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/current-wordpresscom-ip-addresses?replies=3#post-2043582

Note that WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible.
Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made it and the domain mapping purchase here every year.
Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually. In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Hi there!
Can you clarify what you want to do for me? Are you trying to make it so when people visit your site they see ecoarge.net in the address bar? Or do you want people who visit ecoarge.net to be redirect to your site ecomuseoargentario.wordpress.com?
-
Hi!
I’ve just solved part of the problem contacting aruba.it: now when you click on ecoarge.net you will be redirect directly to the wordpress blog. That’s what I wanted. It will be better if people searching on a browser “Ecomuseo Argentario” just found 1 site, the wordpress site. But I think it’s not possible…
Thank you for your interest
Best regards

Hi there!
That’s definitely possible! Here are the steps to take to make that happen:
- Head to the Domains Manager and select “Map an existing domain”:
https://wordpress.com/domains - Walk through the steps using your domain ecoarge.net
- Once the Domain Mapping upgrade is set up on our end, you’ll need to update your name servers to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
It looks like this support document from aruba.it could be a good place to start for that:

Let me know if you have other questions!
