IP address on my comments
-
When I comment on my blog from my home computer, the IP address on my comment (when I view all comments) is different from my computer’s IP address. This started happening in early December. Before then, my computer’s IP address was accurate on my comments.
I noticed this yesterday because an anonymous commenter’s IP was exactly the same as the inaccurate IP that is now connected with my comments.
What might be causing this and should I be concerned about it?

I am neither technical nor geeky but I find what you are saying sets off warning bells in my head. I don’t know how your actual IP is being replaced by another one but I do find the thought very disturbing. Please send a feedback to staff with a link back to this thread.

There is nothing disturbing.
The IP address you see is part of our network. We manage the network in such a way that – at present – the original IP is not shown through. It will be.
But this is nothing at all to be concerned about.

Thanks, I did as you suggested. I wish I had noticed this sooner. I don’t get very many comments, so I wasn’t paying attention.

Ahhh … now I get it. Tx :)
