Hello Mike,
Im not sure either but lets try these steps first:
First, make sure your domain at GoDaddy is unlocked:
https://www.godaddy.com/help/unlock-my-domain-410
Secondly, Follow these steps to transfer the domain to WordPress.com
Goal is to get an Authorization code from GoDaddy to use on WordPress.com. Read the following link on how to get the code.
Third, go over the procedure on this following link
https://www.godaddy.com/help/transfer-domain-to-another-registrar-3560
It says to Initiate the transfer at the new registrar, which is WordPress.com
To get to the web page on WordPress.com to enter the Authorization code you have received from GoDaddy, please follow the instructions in this link:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
some words to help you complete task:
You will need to have to upgrade to a paid plan during transfer on WordPress.com to initiate the Domain Transfer.
Each plan comes with a Domain credit which works for domain mapping or domain transfer, which is what you need.
Follow the links step by step, there will be lots of waiting to let the transfer happen so I will subscribe to this thread to further help out.
Keep us updated.
Thank you,

Hi Mike,
Which domain would you like to use? There are two option for using an existing domain on createababynaming.wordpress.com.
1. Transfer the domain to WordPress.com and renew it through us going forward:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
2. Keep the domain registered and renewed with your current provider and connect it to WordPress.com with domain mapping:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Based on what you’ve said, it sounds like you are trying to connect the domain to WordPress.com with domain mapping do but please let me know if that is not the case.
