IP address where my site resides
-
I am trying to use a domain name and email set up from host gator, but am experiencing email complications. They suggested the following
“Thank You for contacting Host Gator support, are you attempting to perform this from cpanel or though your domain control panel here: https://register.hostgator.com/?manage You will need to perform this at your domain control panel in order to point the nameservers to wordpress.com. If you are planning to use your hostgator account to manage email you this may not be the best option as I am showing several email accounts currently setup on your account and updating your nameservers to wordpress will cause these to stop functioning properly. My suggestion is to have wordress.com provide you with the IP address your domain resides at and we can update the domain name to resolve there with an A record while retaining your email service with your hostgator account. If you need any assistance with this please let me know and I would be happy to help. Sincerely, JesseC Linux Administrator HostGator.com LLC http://support.hostgator.com”Therefore, I would like to try and follow their suggestion by finding the IP address and then have the domain http://www.jollygreenproducts.com resolve there.

Hi, we can’t provide you with a single IP address for your site, since our infrastructure uses thousands of IPs to and they’re not mapped to individual sites in a static manner.
There is probably a better way to set things up, though. It sounds like you’d like to use HostGator as your e-mail provider; if that’s the case, then following these instructions should achieve that:

Please let me know if you have any questions or if there’s anything else I can do.
