IP Adress

Hi ! Can you help me to find the IP adress that belong to my site? I don’t know how to find it, but I need it as I have to link to another page in my menu :-)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

but I need it as I have to link to another page in my menu :-)

Hmm, that’s odd — wouldn’t you normally link it using your site name instead? If you’ll confirm which site you need help with, we can confirm its current IP address(es). Better to link to the domain though when multiple IPs are involved, so, if you’ll tell us more about what you’re hoping to do, we’ll help how we can.

    Hi again
I am a little newbie – sorry haha!

So the page I am talking about is this one https://sisstiss.wordpress.com/

In the menu I have a page called “Blog” – this buttom I would like to link to another page I have at a blogging company! And the blogging company told me to find the IP-adress :-) Does it makes any sense :-D ?

  • Hi there,

WordPress.com blogs don’t have static IP addresses and therefore we cannot provide with the one your site is currently using.

To link your Blog menu item to another page or website you simply need to use a link, not an IP address. Can you please let me know the address of the page you’re referring to so I can have a look?

    Ah okay!

The page I am talking about is sisstiss.wordpress.com

I have misunderstood the blogger company, the reason why I need the IP adress is not for the “blogger”-buttom, but because I have to change my domain. I have bought my own domain http://www.sisselmoeller.dk which now connect with greenrunner.bloggersdelight.dk but I would like to change the http://www.sisselmoeller.dk to connect with sisstiss.wordpress.com
Can you help me with this ? :-)

  • Ahhhhhh okay, I think I understand what you’re after now. You want sisselmoeller.dk to display sisstiss.wordpress.com. We call this domain mapping. Pointing an IP here will not be enough.

First, choose a plan here. Personal would work well.
    https://wordpress.com/plans

Then use the domain credit at https://wordpress.com/domains

Finally, get the registrar where you bought the domain to help you update to these name servers:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

After both of those steps are done, the site should start working with the new address within several hours — just as long as it takes the internet connection to forget the old settings.

Noting the personal plan includes domain mapping, extra space, no ads, and direct WordPress support. So if you need more help after buying the plan, feel free to respond again here in our community forums, or reach out directly via https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ .

    Cheers!

Hi again and thank you for your answer! I do not want to buy a plan – shouldn’t it be possible to just use the free site? Hm :-)

  • You cannot use a custom domain like sisselmoeller.dk on the Free plan. You’ll need to at least upgrade to the Personal plan.
