Hi there!
Can you let us know the URL of your site where you’re wanting to do this? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thank you!

Hi,
The website is still in its staging domain (http://teleperformance.smartlinks.pt/). The final domain will not be that one, it will be a subdomain of teleperformance.pt
We want to exclude all external traffic (i.e., from non-employees) and limit access to internal traffic (users connected through a VPN)
Is that possible? -
Hi there,
That site isn’t hosted on our servers or using our modified version of the open source WordPress software, so this isn’t really something we’re able to help you with over here.
It is possible to restrict traffic to a website in various ways, including IP whitelisting, but I’m not able to tell you what the best way to do that is. For advice on that, please ask the WordPress.org community instead in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Hi,
Like I mentioned, the website I shared is still the staging version. The production version will be hosted using WordPress Pro. However, before deploying the production version of the website, we need to confirm if that is a possibility or if we need an alternative hosting service.
Will that be possible, having the website hosted directly on WordPress? -
If it’s possible to whitelist visitors by IP using a WordPress plugin, you should be able to do that on our hosting, the operative word being “should” – it would depend on exactly how the particular plugin you use is designed to work, as not all plugins are compatible with our hosting environment here on WordPress.com.
If this needs to be done by modifying configuration files on the server itself, then you won’t be able to do that on our hosting.
So the first question you need an answer to is how to do this. Once you know that, we’ll be better able to tell you whether or not that would be possible on WordPress.com.
But we’re not able to help you with the how. This support forum primarily provides support to end-users of free sites hosted on WordPress.com. Free sites on WordPress.com have limited features and can’t use plugins so we simply don’t have the expertise in the various plugins available, in WordPress development, or in server configuration to be able to help with this.
The community who makes the open source WordPress software over on WordPress.org have more experience in this kind of thing, so should be able to help you with the best method to achieve what you want.
