iPad Air 2 error handling new code editor
-
I notice you have changed the format for the code editor on WordPress.com sites. Both my Android phone and my Windows 8.1 PC are OK with the change, however, my iPad Air 2 (running on iPadOS 15.8.4) displays the following error message:

Below a screenshot of the error message I get when I hit the edit button on the home page (other pages give a similar error message). Clearly my version of iPadOS can’t handle your new code editor. Anything that can be done about it?

I have tagged your post so the staff can see it. Please wait patiently, someone will get back to you shortly. 😃

Hello there,
We have been investigating this issue, and it appears that the iPad Air 2 is a relatively old device, which stopped receiving updates from Apple several years ago.
With the editor code constantly updating to take advantage of new web browser features, it is very possible that the device is no longer able to process the code.
The fact that it appears to be working on other devices suggests this.
I did ask the rest of the team if anyone had an iPad Air 2 to test on but we weren’t able to find a device.
Windows 8 also stopped being supported a couple of years ago, but it may still work, as it uses different code to process websites.
So it sadly looks like the devices are getting a bit old, I’m afraid.
