iPad iPhone & .pdf

I have several “printiable documents” or links to .pdfs on my site http://hbgf.wordpress.com/visit/directions/ and they function fine everywhere except on iPhone and iPad where there are a bunch of rectangular boxes filling the page instead of words. Help please! & Thanks.

I’ve not had any issues view PDFs in Safari on my iPad or iPhone. I can’t even open it in Preview on my Mac. It does open in Adobe Acrobat Pro though.

There is something wrong with the PDF creation. I’ve had this issue with MS Word before when creating PDF’s from within it.

Is there a more common version of Adobe or form of .pdf that I should be using when creating my .pdfs or is it better to avoid Word altogether maybe and use Indesign? Thanks for turning the light bulb on.

You know, I’m not sure of perhaps it is the version of PDF that is being created through Word or what. I’ve go Acrobat Pro and I have no issues with PDFs created out of InDesign, and I have no problems with PDFs created via the Apple print dialog box either.

I take it you are on Windows give the PDF creator is showing as “Word 2007.”

I just now went to the “directions” pdf on your site and I can now view it in Safari and Preview on my Mac, and it loads and looks fine on my iPhone, so whatever you have done has fixed the issue.
