iPhone app broken under iOS7.

  I’m assuming your already acutely aware of this, but the iPhone app absolutely fails under iOS7. But iPad app seems OK. Solution soon I hope?

  Thanks Michael. We’re aware of more-than-acceptable number of bugs on the latest version. 3.8.1 corrected some and 3.8.2 is waiting approval by Apple to fix some more.

  If there are any particular issues, you can let me know or post in the iOS app forums at http://ios.forums.wordpress.org so we can make sure the developers have a particular bug on their list.

  I knew you’d be on the case. With me, it simply won’t get beyond an opening blue screen … a click … and then it crashes out. Every time. So I can’t even get the app started.

  As I said, the iPad version opens fine.

  And I have had problems with a number of other apps, so there are clearly teething problems.

  That’s been a particular tricky one. The couple of cases of that extreme bug we’ve processed also didn’t log the crash using the iOS logging feature, so even harder to track down.

  If you would be so kind, can you send us the crash logs? After syncing with iTunes, they can be found in the (home)~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME> folder on your Mac. Please send any file named after WordPress (especially a .crash and a .plist ).

  I’ll send you an e-mail in a moment so you can respond to that if you’re willing and able to send the logs.

  In one case, uninstalling and reinstalling the app solved it. In another, they had to remove the app via iTunes, sync’d the phone, and reinstall. The negative there is the data is not retained, so you’ll have to re-add your blogs, so that may not be a non-starter for you.
