Ippo theme not allowing even posts of home page.
-
Hello all!
I have the Ippo theme and am really not liking the way my posts aren’t straight across the home page. They kind of are lopsided all the way down the front page and throw off my aesthetic. Is there any codes or anything I can do to even that up? Along with that, I have a lot of dead space at the bottom of the page because it is meant to be a continuous page. Is there a way to make that not so prominent? Even if it was half the size of that.
Thanks so much! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @oliviacorin26, I see what is causing the problem, your Me & You podcast post should be showing up where that space is at top left. You have it set with an image post format, which should still show up, but it isn’t. I’m having one of our developers look into it. I’ll post back here as soon as I hear back from them and let you know what is going on.

Hi there, I had the developer look things over, and from what we can tell, Ippo only supports the Quote and Link post formats, not the Image post format, and your latest post was set to Image post format. I’ve set it back to Standard format and it is showing up. What you will probably want to do is to add the image you have at the top of the content as a featured image so that hit shows up on that post on your main page.
I’m filing a bug report ticket on this so the theme author can look into it and either include the additional post formats, or remove the unsupported formats from the post format module in the editor.

That looks a lot better! Thank you so much for doing that, I appreciate it. If I delete that podcast image post eventually, will my other posts even up and not be lopsided?

I noticed that it is even for the first four, and then it starts to go uneven again, a bit lopsided. I deleted the podcast post to even things out, and it worked towards the top. Any thoughts?

Hi @oliviacorin26,
Richard is out this morning so I wanted to jump in here and take a look at this.
I noticed that it is even for the first four, and then it starts to go uneven again, a bit lopsided.
Here’s what I see on your site compared to a section of the Ippo demo:
https://cldup.com/pTmlxTLBJa.pngI examined the area with the first four posts on your site, but I’m having difficulty spotting the problem area when I compare it to the way posts are laid out on the Ippo demo.
If you’re still seeing an issue with your site’s layout, could you reply with some more details on what you’re seeing there? Feel free to save that screenshot, add notes/arrows to it in an image editor, and upload it to your media library or send a link to it.

In the screenshot today, I still saw a podcast post as your first post. Feel free to make a screenshot with that post deleted if you want to show what you’re seeing without that post.

Hi so sorry. I was messing with it between then and now. I did add the podcast section again just to see how I liked it, but you’ll notice in the “blog posts” section, there is the first row that is straight, and second row that is even until the post at the end (technical difficulties is the post I’m talking about”. It goes down a bit not creating an even line across those posts. Here is the URL for it.

That happens again if you press “load more” the far right posts all lean down a bit. You’ll see that in “a pineapple a day” post. It does the same as I stated previously. I hope that all makes sense! Once that is figured out, I can figure out the home page! Thank you so much! -

I see what you mean there. So with this theme, the best way to force a consistent spacing on your archives is to use excerpts. Otherwise, the theme will automatically select a cut-off point for the text displayed below the post. If it does that, it may cause uneven amounts of text under your images, causing the posts below to shift downwards.
If you make all of your excerpts the same number of lines long, they will have consistent spacing on your category links like the one you sent above.
Let me know if that helps.

Glad to hear. I’ll mark this thread as resolved, but if you need help with this later, feel free to reply.
