ippo theme: several authors? just header image

  i am thinking about purchasing the ippo theme:
  2 question for my decision.

  – is it possible to have several authors?
  – I just would like to have header images (either carusell oder full width) but no text/no post visible: can I set feature images in posts, which are only private visible, so it doesn’t appear within the posts shown on the site? can I just leave the text area empty, so no text appears?

  Hi, both your questions are not theme dependent. :)

  Any site can have multiple authors.

  Private posts by default are not shown to site visitors, but only Admins and Editors on the site. See this support doc on Post visibility. https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/

  However I’m not really certain about what would appear when publishing a blank, Private post with only a feature image. That may need some testing and can be tested on any theme that uses featured images.

  thanks for the answer.

  the question concerning several authors arose, because with the theme solar you cannot have several authors… so I figured, that it is theme dependent

  Interesting. Thank you for pointing that out. In the 10 years that I’ve been on WordPressdotcom I have yet to run into a theme that only allows one author. To the best of my knowledge, multiple authors is a function of the WordPress software.

  I’ve tagged this for Staff answer to ensure both your questions are answered in full concerning Ippo (I might be 99% certain, but that is not 100%.)

  Hi there,

  As @justjennifer said, adding users is part of the core WordPress functionality. A theme cannot affect how WordPress itself works. Where do you see that Solar does not support multiple authors? I don’t see anything in that regard on the theme’s documentation. I also activated that theme on a site and was able to add additional authors without any problem.

  Private posts don’t show up on your site at all and they won’t appear in the post slider. If you want the slider to have only images, publish blank posts with featured images. If someone were to click on the slider they’ll then be taken to a blank post, but there’s no way to avoid that.
