Irish VAT number not accepted

  The Checkout page will not accept my Irish VAT number and the AI support does not address this issue.

  Correct account: Yes

  In some countries, you may need to take extra steps before your VAT number is recognized in the VIES system. Please check with your local tax authority to confirm if that applies to you:

  Hi @alancasey45, do I understand correctly that you already have a VAT number and are experiencing difficulty adding it to your WordPress.com website purchase? If so, have you tried adding it first at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/vat-details

  thank you but neither address the issue. As I said, my VAT number is Irish (EU) and it is not accepted by the checkout page (when setting up my account). On the receipt that I paid for my yearly WordPress account, I paid an Irish entity with an Irish VAT number which makes it all the more frustrating. My number format is 0000000XX.
