    Hi !

I’m looking for a design that will unable me to have as w i i i i de TEXT as possible :)
I mean my design is refered to as “single column by wordpress.com layout,
but its obviously that my design has two downsides (for me that is :)

as it is right now I have the TEXT wich is only a half of the site.

and there are thouse notes about what I’ve wrote in each month.

I do NOT want any of these . . .

I will be happy with anything that could allow me to wriiiiiiite :) I mean I would be VERY glad if there was something similar in a design as “wordpad”.
were I could use eeeeeentire length of text-text-text :)))

    help?

    HUGE THANKS ahead! :)

ps. I have looked through the filter on the themes availaiable. the filter setting I used while looking is “one column”. and I keep geting 450 as top width . . .

We need the URL of your blog, starting with http.

Well, I’ll just mention this, but for text, the optimum width for reading is around 500px and anything 700px and wider becomes very difficult to read since the eye has trouble moving from one line to another without skipping or trying to repeat a line. That is why pages in books are not 12 inches wide.

Take a look at this post by Panos, and you can find some that on single column are nearly 1000px wide and you can have text as far as the eye can see.

    first things first, THANK YOU!

just thanks for answering its very nice of you.

as far as sepecs go, anything, just anything might help.
    up only 50?
    (fr. 450 to 500) I’ll take that! :)

    is a 1000 possible !?
    I would LOVE THAT!

ps. as far as width goes, I’ m wondering if there is a cultural aspect to it . . .
my main blog on the other site is something near a 1000,
most popular blogs writen in Russian have often a page that is that or more in width.
I have had that width for quite a while and haven’t had any coplaints.

Thanks to previous answer by user
I have changed my theme from

    450 to 680 in width.

so I’m 80 % there, and it is already waaay better than it was (thanks to you guys :O)

    now!?
now I would like to maintain or add width, but . . .
but I really don’t want to have any sidebars…

side bars can be on top or bellow, but when it comes to the space for text I want it to be as wide, as unhindered as possible :)
I want it to flooooow :)))
    flow on the page,
    flow like a wave :)

*I just can’t stop smiling, cause already as it is you made my day! * :)

    2 the-sacred-path

I don’t really know how to explain better what I’m looking for, it’s just that I was able to find it on very similar platforms, that work together well, but I do not seem to be able to find it here for example on livejournal there is this design:
    http://ruriktochkase.livejournal.com/

    1. only one collumn
    2. no sidebars
    3. no callendar

the text just flows and flows :)

*on some browsers you might even need to use the mouse to move from side to side.

I have tried thouse in panos list that seem to offer biggest width,
but the ones that top “journalist 1.9” , seem to have actionly less space for text
    (in one column in width).

    so? mmm…
    I’m just thinking out loud . . .
but if anyone decides to make new designs and so on,
prehaps that could be an idea ?

making something that uses as much width as possible ?

*if I have overlooked something that provides more width in one column than the design “journalist 1.9” PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME! :)

I will be VERY glad to be wrong! :)))

All themes here are unique. They are not like off the rack Blogger or Live Journal Themes. There is a Themes Showcase and it has a searchbox equipped with feature filters that you can use. (Note that calendars are widgets. Don’t install one and that’s solved.)

Have you looked at Fusion? Layout options in Appearance→Themes include fixed or flexible layout, choice of left, right, or two right sidebars, or a full-width main column with no sidebars.
