Is a FULL REFUND possible?

    I bought this domain and plan today, but when I go to get a refund it says I’m only getting a percentage back, as I’m still being charged for the domain name. But I want to cancel my membership of the domain name as well, since I’m going with another provider.

    Can’t seem to find a way to speak with a real person (shock!), does anybody have any advice on how to get a FULL refund, as the purchase was not cheap?

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ tells you everything about WordPress.com’s refund policy. Domain registrations can be canceled within 48 hours of registration. Did you cancel within 48 hours? Probably not and that is the reason why there is no full refund in your case. Sorry! More information can be found on [spam advertising link removed by mod]

    No, I bought this an hour ago, so yes, fully within the 48 hours.

    @rawbirther001- if you requested the refund via those instructions, you should already see if the upgrade is cancelled. Let me know if you do not and I will mark this for Staff attention.

    Here’s the thing, if you just registered that domain name with WordPressdotcom and you intend on using it with a different hosting provider, DO NOT CANCEL THE DOMAIN in order to buy it somewhere else. There is no guarantee that you will be able to do so. Additionally, ICANN regulations prohibit new domains from being transferred until after 60 days have passed,

    But you can still use the domain purchased here with a different provider until that time. Here’s more info on that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/all-about-domains/

    I’ve decided to create my own theme so I can customise as I like, so I’ll just keep the plan after all. Thanks again.

    Just in case, WordPressdotcom does provide a 30-day refund (on everything but domains) in case you do decide to move elsewhere.
