Is a new website created if I remove the wordpress.com part from the address or is it the same websi

  I want to remove the wordpress.com part from my blog’s address but Im not if sure if that would create a new website while the one I have exists seperately or would it update the same website. Would I need to redirect readers or would they still be able to reach my blog by typing the old address?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It’s one website. Readers will be able to reach your blog by typing the old address.
