Is a security service like Sitelock necessary on a WordPress.com site?

I recently switched hosting services to WordPress.com and I’m curious about security. I’m pretty new to this and I’m not sure how it works. I know about safe passwords and secure connections, but do I need a 3rd party security service like Sitelock? I got it with my previous hosting provider but I don’t know if I still need it. I am planning on putting in paypal donation and possibly e-commerce in on my site later on even though it isn’t there now.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

For WordPress.com it would not be necessary. I would consider this one of the perks of being hosted with us. Take a look at this support guide regarding our security:

Keep Your Site Safe and Secure

One thing that I would recommend is enabling 2 step authentication as seen here:

    Enable Two-Step Authentication

Let me know if you have any questions with this!
