Is a site down when adding content?

  My site (has static pages) is unpublished at this stage & have kept it so until finish all the pages. Once published though, what happens if I want to add more pages and content etc? Whilst I am doing so does that make the site unavailable? What happens if people try to view it?
  Is it down during that time presumably?

  No WordPress.com site is unavailable at any time unless you make it private.

  Your current content and pages are shown until you add a new content or publish new pages. People will see your current content until you have more content.

  Ok thanks, just to clarify … what you’re saying is, when published, one day I add more content which takes me say an hour, during that hour, folks can still use/see the site? Thanks again.
