Is a SSL certificate included with a premium subscription?
-
Do you have a SSL certificate?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I believe the SSL certificate WordPress uses is for all WordPress.com sites, so for *.wordpress.com domains, regardless of premium or free.
So, you won’t need your own certificate for your site.
If I understand what you’re asking! :)
-
Yes,
I wanted to know if the information between my site and my users had an SSL certificate from WordPress.
I wanted my users to know that it was there prior to sharing and sending their information to my site.Or do I need to purchase a SSL Cert. from WordPress.

I’m not an SSL expert, but I believe that if your visitors access your site through https://pinkbraindrain.wordpress.com/ (not just http://pinkbraindrain.wordpress.com/ ), then its done through secure connection.

The last time I checked browsers did not like a custom domain name with domain mapping and https – the SSL Certificate is issued to wordpress.com not custom-name.com (try https on the site linked to my name and you will see what happens)
WordPress.COM is working on the issue but have not came up with a fix yet, Google is starting to downgrade sites that don’t support https a bit in their search results – there are some threads in the forum on this issue where the staff have weighed in
-
@auxclass is correct. However if you don’t have a custom domain name and you just keep your site as https://pinkbraindrain.wordpress.com, then there shouldn’t be an issue.

Hi, I will be needing a custom url to setup my online ecommerce site. What can I do in the mean time, if wordpress is having ssl issues with google?
