is a text cut possible?

    Hey guys,

    I’m kinda new to wordpress.. and I’m trying to do something called a text cut. I used to have livejournal in highschool and I could do something called an lj text cut where it linked onto another page where there were either more pictures or more writing or whatever.. Is this what a page would be? And can I link a page into my posts? Like.. if I said I had taken pictures and wanted to post them, but didn’t want them to show up directly in my post.. is there a way I can say “Click Here to check out my pics” and that itself is a link to a separate page that just has the pics.. is this possible? I’m not sure how to get things to work yet. Also.. is the CSS package worth purchasing? I used to know html pretty well.. but only with my livejournal. I’m sure I could figure it out on here with all the instructional websites though. Anyway, thanks for your time.. anyone and everyone. Ciao for now.

    Don’t even think of buying the CSS upgrade if you don’t already know how to use CSS. Practice first using the free preview.

    You can link from any particular page or post to any other: yours or someone else’s. Do you want to do a page jump, which puts the first bit of your post on the main page and the rest behind aa Read More button? Do you want to jump to farther down in the page? I need more info. Also, a direct link to your blog, starting with http.

    And, to link to another page:
    – either go to the visual post editor, write the phrase you want (e.g. “Click here” etc), highlight it, click the link icon and paste the URL of the page in the box that opens
    – or go to the html post editor and use this code:
    <a href="URL_OF_PAGE_HERE" target="_blank">PHRASE_HERE</a>
