Is allowed space combined in multiple blogs

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I have two blogs under one user name. Do they each function separately as far as *allowed space goes? Or do the two together function as one as far as allowed gigs of space go.

I ask because if they are combined, and I add another blog, then that would use up my free space faster !

    Thanks
    Pam

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Each Free WordPress.com blogs comes with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images.

That is what I thought, but a friend told me that if I combine blogs, under one user name, it will combine my free space and affect them all. I am glad that is not correct! Thank you

Not only are they not combined, but if you ever run out of room on one blog, you can open another and upload things to that, then hotlink them in your first blog.

Wow- That is great ! Is there any way to use a second Category Drop down? If you look at my main blog, you will see I have one and then I have a very long, long page area! I would love to call my Category by name, say Food and companies, and then have several others by name as well, so they have drop down lists! I know I can change the name on the category, but I need several categories drop downs to do that with so I ca pull the other stuff out of there.

You have linked some forum to your wordpress.com username rather than your primary wordpress.com blog. Please either rectify that so Volunteers are not wasting their time clicking into unrelated sites or post the URL for the blog in question each and every time you post to this forum.

Here’s how to link your username to your primary blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ and fill in the the complete URL for your wordpress.com blog starting with http:// and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

Note that there is a complete record of every post that you make to the forum on your forum profile page. Also note that when you mark a forum threads as “favorites” that you will find them listed on the forum profile page too. And everyone in the forum can access your forum profile by simply clicking on “Member” next to your username.

When you post the complete and clickable URL for your blog starting with http:// we will be able to see which theme you are using. Only one theme here has two top horizontal navigation menus and its Enterprise. The top row is for static page tabs and the second row is for 10 categories.

If that doesn’t suit you then you can create custom menus. See here for the themes that have that feature and scroll to the top for instructions. >

I apologize for that! I apparently forgot to change the link when I moved everything over here to word press, from that site! DUH! Sorry! ! I fixed it!

  • Unknown's avatar

Thanks for fixing that. :) Ocean Mist is one of the themes that do have the custom menu feature so that should accomplish what you want.

I am not so interested in the top menu, right now anyway, as I am having a second or third category drop down on the right side which I can name according to the subject matter. I remember trying it and it did not work, so either I did something wrong or it can’t be done?

ahhh, I found one that does it! It has multiple categories ! So, I may change my other blogs also to this theme! If I change theme, will my header have to be uploaded again?
