Is allowing Adsense into your Open Salon Blog allowed?

    Salon.com has a new program where you can feed your blog into their site. On their site they give you the option of including adsense to make money on your blog or blogs. would this be a breach of terms of services? i do not believe this is covered anywhere in the tos.

    Whatever you want to do on Salon’s site is up to their TOS. The WP TOS covers advertising on WordPress blogs, and it’s pretty clear about what adsense ads can appear on your free WordPress account… which would be none.

    Since you can’t have advertising when your WordPress.com blog is mapped to your own domain, my guess is no. But the correct place to ask is http://support.wordpress.com/contact/

    Oooh, I wouldn’t go near that. Duplicating your content on their site will SLAUGHTER your search engine ranking: google will decide that your blog here is just a clone of that vastly more-important site, Salon, and will downgrade you as if you were a spammer.

    It is, however, entirely up to you.

    As to the ads, I think what happens when your feed leaves this site is no longer subject to WP.com’s ToS. It would depend how the ads work: would they be put in your blog here, to be streamed over there via the feed, or are they put around the feed on that other site?
