Is buying "Custom Design" enough to solve my problem?

  I use the theme Shine On, but I’d like to add a side bar to it. Can I do it simply buying the Custom Design, or should I choose another theme? The whole theme is perfect for me the way it is, but I really need the side bar to have some permanent information displayed.

  Adding a sidebar is not a design feature as much as a coded one. Best recommendation is to find a theme with the layout you need and then get the Custom Design upgrade to change the look of that theme. For more flexibility, you could also consider moving to a self-hosted WordPress blog where you have more control over the layout and code.
