Is changing site adress a risk for my website content?

Hi! I want to change my wordpress site address (like here: https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/), still wanting to use the wordpress domain though. Will this have any influence on my website’s content, e.g. could some things get deleted? I am a bit scared to change the address since I cannot find any specific information on whether it will not make any changes on the website (apart from changing the website’s address).

Changing a website domain? No, I don’t think so. The main problem that you should be wary of is that changes you make to your site right after your domain is changed might take up to 72 hours to show. As for things getting deleted, I don’t believe you have to worry about that. Hope this helps!

Changing your domain will make your old domain disappear and it can take quite some time before search engines pick up your new site. Not to mention people who goes to your old site and see it is gone.
