Is domain email still available for non-profit domains?

Howdy, I’m a tech volunteer for Sustainable Renton, a 501(c)3 non-profit in the state of Washington. WordPress hosts us and has allowed us the use of sustainablerenton.org, for which many thanks!

A few months ago I was asked if it was possible for us to set up (email visible only to moderators and staff) emails for the board. I was able to find information on WordPress.com that led me to believe it was indeed possible, under the auspices of the plan that has also registered our .org domain. I passed on the URL.

I’ve now been asked to facilitate setting up the email addresses. However, I haven’t been able to locate how or where to do so, or for that matter any confirmation that this service is still available. Is it? I would appreciate any advice that might be offered.

(Or have the terms of our service changed? If so, a URL for the current terms would be very helpful, as we would certainly wish to comply with them.)

My apologies if this information is readily available elsewhere but I haven’t been able to find it by searching for “non-profit” or “501(c)3” in this forum or elsewhere on WordPress.com.

    Thanks in advance to all,
    Carl J.

Note: (email redacted) above has been redacted for context-free reasons, should be “[redacted by staff]”

  • Hi there,

We redact emails in the forums for a reason, so spam bots and hackers cannot obtain your email address here as these forums are completely public. Staff can still see redacted emails.

You can set up email addresses for any domain hosted with us, but we don’t offer email hosting as a service, so you need to use a third-party email host to provide the actual email service.

You can buy a Google G Suite subscription directly from us at $50 per user per year, or you can use another provider like GoDaddy, Office365, Zoho mail, or any other email provider. We have more information on some of the options and how to set them up with a WordPress.com domain here:

    Add Email to Your Domain

My apologies if this information is readily available elsewhere but I haven’t been able to find it by searching for “non-profit” or “501(c)3” in this forum or elsewhere on WordPress.com.

I’m not sure why you’d be using those search terms if you’re looking for information on setting up an email address at your domain. What type of site or organisation you have has nothing to do with what services we offer or how using a particular feature works.

Also note that as a premium plan owner you can get support via live chat 24/5 and via email 24/7 via the help icon visible on all pages of the My Sites dashboard. You don’t need to post in the public forums for support.
